Obituary For James Chambers

OPELOUSAS – A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Opelousas Family Worship Center in Opelousas, LA for Mr. James Chambers, 65, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA.

Bishop Albert Richard of Opelousas Family Worship Center will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Chambers memories are being cherished by: his wife, Dorothy Chambers of Opelousas, LA; three sons, Travis Cornelius Chambers, Sr., Deandre Cornelius and Craig (Julia) St. Romain, all of Opelousas, LA; three daughters, April Cornelius, Stephanie Hicks (Loran) and Lashunda Cornelius, all of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Billy Chambers of LeBeau, LA; three sisters, Barbara Woolridge of LeBeau, LA, Diane Fontenot of Houston, TX, and Debra Romar of LeBeau, LA; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; close cousins, Allen Byrd and Gertie Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Chambers is preceded in death by: his parents, Paul and Lucille Evans Chambers, Sr.; nine brothers, Jerry Donald Chambers, Paul Chambers, Jr., Herman Chambers, Micheal Chambers, Roy Chambers, Darren Chambers, Richard Chambers, Rodney Chambers, and Mitchell Chambers; one sister, Carrie Chenevert; and two grandchildren, Armhazi Nalani Hicks and Travis Cornelius, Jr.
