VILLE PLATTE - Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at St. John Baptist Church in Ville Platte, LA for Mrs. Jean Jolivet, 80, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Ville Platte, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Rev. Freddie Jack, Pastor of St. John Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mrs. Jolivet’s memories are being cherished by: her son, Duane (Stacy) Jorden of Opelousas, LA; four brothers, Harry (Mary) Thomas of Chataignier, LA, Nathaniel (Emily) Thomas of Seattle, WA, Jerry Thomas of Houston, TX and Donald (Theresa) Brown of Crosby, TX; three sisters, Gloria Green (John) of South Bend, IN, Patricia Thomas Arvie of Westlake, LA and Judy Pugh (Tee) of Beaumont, TX; two grandchildren, Khalil Duane Jorden and Naji Rashid Jorden, both of Asbury Park, NJ; four bonus grandchildren, Bryan K. Whitley of Neptune Township, NJ, Alaina Poullard Murray of Opelousas, LA, Alexa Poullard Faulk, of Carencro, LA and Allen J. Poullard, III of Seattle, WA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Nathan Jolivet; her parents, Edward and Mildred Skinner Thomas; one daughter, Makeba Dionne Jorden; and six brothers, Elwood “Toward” Thomas, Hayward Thomas, Charles L. Thomas, Raphael Thomas, Kirk D. Thomas and Cedric Paul Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church.
