PLAISANCE, LA - A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 3461 Hwy 167, Opelousas, LA (Plaisance community) for Mrs. Jenny Lee Oville, 87, who entered eternal rest peacefully on June 10, 2025 at her residence in Opelousas, LA with her daughter Stephanie by her side. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pastor Jason Rubin, Sr., pastor of the St. Mark Baptist Church will be officiating the services.
She loved the Lord and served faithfully as President of the Usher Board and Deaconess at the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Oville’s memories are being cherished by her children, Stephanie Oville, Rita Oville-Newton (Pastor Kenneth)of Lexington, Kentucky, Darrell Oville (Betty) of Opelousas, LA, La Vonne- O’Ville-Alexander of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Kermit Oville (Valarie) of Laurel, Mississippi, and James Oville III of Opelousas, LA. sisters, Annie Lee Sam (Allan) of Texas City, Texas and one brother Jimmy Harmon of Kinder, LA., seven grandchildren, two great grand-children and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oville Jr.; two daughters, Elder Marie Oville and Linda Jordan; one son, Paul Dewayne Oville; her parents Ola Freeman and Alcee Mose; and two sisters Dorothy Joseph and Brenda Morris.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Joseph Gormez, Gertie Rubin, Ella Guillory, Minister Emma Jones, Jeffrey Alexander, and Ms. Donne (Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 8:00 AM-10:45AM at the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Plaisance, LA.
