OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Jermaine Doucet, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Trigga”, 48, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Frank L. Ford, Pastor of Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, will be officiating the funeral service.
“Trigga” was the owner and chef of Fat Belly’s Diner in Opelousas where he served delicious soul food. He greeted everyone with a joke and a beautiful smile. He made sure when you left the diner you were “Fat Belly Full”. He loved cooking and making everyone laugh.
Trigga’s memories are being cherished by: four sons, Jermaine Doucet, Jr., Javontate Doucet, Justin Doucet and Ja’Quan Doucet, all of Opelousas, LA; three daughters, Daejah Harnsberry Baker (Tre), Kierra Doucet and Bella Owens, all of Opelousas, LA; his father, Arthur Doucet and his mother, Ruby Thomas Doucet, both of Opelousas, LA; two brothers, Kenneth (Bridget) Doucet of Opelousas, LA and Craig Doucet (Amanda) of Breaux Bridge, LA; two sisters, Krystal Doucet and Melissa Doucet (Mark), both of Opelousas, LA; a special niece that was raised as his little sister with him, Dawana Doucet of Opelousas, LA; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his stepmother, Annie Lee Doucet and his grandchildren, Ava and A’mari Harnsberry.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
