OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Bellevue Street Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. John Edwards, 58, who entered eternal rest on Friday, September 2, 2022. Interment will be in Mohorn Baptist Church Cemetery in Plaisance, LA.
Rev. Joel Greene, Jr., Pastor of Bellevue Street Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Edwards’ memories are being cherished by: his wife, Nella Edwards of Opelousas, LA; one son, Joshua (Krystina) Edwards of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Joan Gauthier (Lawrence) and Jasmine Edwards, both of Opelousas, LA; five brothers, Joseph (Dorothy) Guillory of Alabama, Larry (Rozena) Edwards of Eunice, LA, Frank (Kensasha) Edwards of Lafayette, LA, Matthew (Racheal) Authorlee and Karl (Jacqueline) Authorlee, both of Opelousas, LA; Five sisters, Bonnie Edwards of Saginaw, MI, Betty Augustine (Joseph) and Daphney Authorlee (George), both of Opelousas, LA, Louella Umezulike (Ifeanyi) of Carencro, LA and Lisa Authorlee of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Kaydence Edwards, Jayson Edwards, Zion Gauthier and Xavier Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, John and Rosa Lee Edwards Authorlee; one son, Quan Thomas; and one sister, Sharon Laysgard.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Bellevue Street Baptist Church.
