OPELOUSAS - Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Joseph Morris Leday, Jr., 82, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Oschner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Deacon Jerome Collins will be officiating the funeral mass.
Mr. Leday leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Audrey Leday of Opelousas, LA; seven sons, Morris (Lauren) Leday, III of Breaux Bridge, LA, Brandon Leday of Lawtell, LA, Kevin (Julia) Leday, Micheal Lemon, Morris (Crystal) Lemon, John Leday and Donald Leday, all of Opelousas, LA; three daughters, Connie Mallet (John) of Zachary, LA, Hannah Porsche (Dillon) of Krotz Springs, LA and Zanthe Leday of Opelousas, LA; one step daughter, Gloria Boutte of Opelousas, LA; two brothers, Felton (Carolyn) Leday of Lawtell, LA and Ashton (Ann) Leday of Houston, TX; seven sisters, Juanita Rene (Joseph) and Anna Lee Doucet (Arthur), both of Opelousas, LA, Enolia Guillory of Houston, TX, Anna Bell Reed (Hillary) of Lawtell, LA, Patty Batiste and Priscilla Leday, both of Carencro, LA and Merlie Leday of Lafayette, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Morris and Mildred Leday; father and mother-in-law, Willie and Yvonne Mouton; three sons, Jimmy Broussard, Paul Wayne Leday and John Scotty Lemon; two brothers, Joseph Leday and John Burley Leday; and three sisters, Janice Chavis, Lucille Joubert and Madolia Leday Carmouche.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
