Obituary For Joseph P. Landry, Sr.
OPELOUSAS β A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Joseph Paul Landry, Sr., 82, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at his residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in the Bellevue Community.
Fr. Justin Arockiasamy, S.V.D. will officiate the mass.
Mr. Landry was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Inseparable Friends Benevolent Association of Opelousas.
Mr. Landryβs memories are being cherished by: his children, three sons, Joseph Paul Landry Jr. (Camella), Michael James Landry (Melissa) both of Opelousas, Louisiana, Ronald Joseph Landry of Ville Platte, Louisiana; three daughters, Maxine and Betty Landry both of Opelousas, Louisiana; Angela Augustine of Lafayette, Louisiana; eight sisters, Pearl Rubin (Gary) of Friendswood, Texas, Shirley Ford of Austin, Texas, Louanna Warner (Lucius), Ida Rami (Leonard) both of Opelousas, Louisiana, Mary Landry of Leesville, Louisiana, Delphine Lafleur (Howard) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Cheryl Lafleur (Eric) of Houston, Texas, and Theresa Austin (Joseph) all of Opelousas, Louisiana; five brothers, Peter Landry (Elizabeth), Murphy Landry (Gail), Amos Landry Jr., Joseph Landry, Tilden Landry (Dorothy) all of Opelousas, Louisiana; one aunt, Josephine Brown of Leonville, Louisiana; three godchildren, Wilbert Tyler of Opelousas, Louisiana, Patricia Brown of Port Barre, Louisiana and Joanne Milton of Leonville, Louisiana; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; Club Heels and Charcoal family and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Anna Bell Pickney Landry; his parents, Amos and Cornelia Boast Landry, Sr.; one daughter, Jacqueline Marie Landry Dunbar; one daughter-in-law, Pamela Denise Jason Landry; and two sisters-in-law, Jessie Landry and Dianne Landry.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA.
