LAWTELL – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 291 Thibodeaux Rd., Lawtell, LA for Mr. Joseph Retell Bellard, 67, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point, LA.

Fr. Stanley Jawa, SVD will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Bellard’s memories are being cherished by: his bonus daughter, Iris Woods of St. Martinville, LA; one brother, Ernest (Esther) Bellard of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Edna Ann Broussard (Patrick) of Carencro, LA; bonus grandchildren, Gavin Woods and Micah Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his wife, Velma Ann Bellard; parents, Adam and Ella Mae Chavis Bellard; brothers, Lawrence Chavis, Charles, Paul, David and Raphael Bellard; and bonus granddaughter, Iaian Woods.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church.
