Obituary For Joseph Rogers Newman
OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Joseph Rogers Newman, 70, who entered eternal rest on Monday, April 28, 2025 at his residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville, LA.
Rev. Joshua Munterim, S.V.D. will be officiating the funeral mass.
Mr. Newman’s memories are being cherished by: his spouse, Mrs. Rose Auzenne Newman of Opelousas, LA; one son, Reggie (Ashanti) Newman of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Katrena Newman of Opelousas, LA; four grandchildren, Isaiah Newman, Myles Smith, Reginald Newman and Caleb Newman, all of Opelousas, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. Nicklas Human and Mrs. Martha Sonnier Human; two brothers, Dalton and Norman Newman; and one sister, Doris Newman.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
