Obituary For Josiah Joseph Guidry
PLAISANCE – Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at St. Mark Baptist Church in Plaisance, LA for Baby Josiah Guidry, 11 months old, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Jason Rubin, Pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Josiah’s memories are being cherished by: his father, Christopher Sam and his mother, Ashley Guidry, both of Opelousas, LA; his guardian and maternal grandmother, Danielle Guidry Hicks maternal grandfather, Kadera Hicks, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Debra Sam; two brothers, Markendrick Sam and Christopher Lafountain; one sister, Lachristiana Pierre; maternal uncle, Kadera (McKenzie) Hicks, Jr.; paternal uncle, Treyvis Robertson; maternal aunts, Shaquandera Hicks, Constance Guidry Price (Terrence) and Raylene Guidry; paternal aunt, Courtney Sam; Godparents, Rev. Jason Rubin, Sr. and First Lady Sandra Rubin, Raylene Guidry and Kadera Hicks, Jr.; and a host of cousins and friends.
Josiah is preceded in death by: his brother, Greyson Guidry; his maternal great grandparents, Barbara Guidry and Joyce Hicks; maternal great aunt, Keisha Guidry; paternal great grandmother, Rosa Lee Sam; paternal uncle, Marcus “OG” Same; paternal aunt, Kendra Sam; and great cousins, Kimberly Guidry and Christopher Guidry.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church.
