Obituary For Jude Morris, Sr.
OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Jude Morris, Sr., affectionately known by his family and friends as “Fernando”, 70, who entered eternal rest on Monday, November 25, 2024 at The Carpenter’s House in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Gerald Toussaint will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Morris’ memories are being cherished by: his seven sons, Jermaine (Marie) Babineaux, Sr. and Jason Minix, both of Sunset, LA, Kevin (Rachel) Babineaux of Opelousas, LA, Jude (Brooke) Morris, Jr. of Rayne, LA, Ornando (Nish) Butler of Houston, TX, Jude (Leatrice) Devilla of Beaumont, TX, and Reynard Anderson of Washington, DC; one daughter, Christy Morris of Opelousas, LA; his former spouse and special friend, Jessie Morris of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Herman Morris of California; three sisters, Lolita Wyatt and Cynthia Joseph, both of Opelousas, LA and Linda Batiste (Alvin) of Los Angeles, CA; two special friends, Mack Babineaux, Jr. and Raymond Chatman; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Velma Guillory Morris and two sisters, Janice Morris and Joanne Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
