Obituary For Katherine M. Sam
OPELOUSAS – A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Ms. Katherine M. Same, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Cat”, 62, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at The Carpenter’s House in Lafayette, LA.
Rev. Patrick Lavergne, Pastor of Greater Union Baptist Church, will be officiating the celebration of life.
Ms. Sam’s memories are being cherished by: her two daughters, Renada Sam and Crystal Sam (Jaylon), both of Opelousas, LA; three brothers, Alvin Gene Guidry, Dallas Sam, Jr. and Christopher (Annette) Guidry, all of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Debra Sam and Paula Bernard (Charles), both of Opelousas, LA; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas Sam, Sr. and Isabella Guidry Sam.
