OPELOUSAS โ Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Morning Star Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA for Ms. Lena Sonnier, 74, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 12, 2025 in Baton Rouge, LA.
Rev. Harry Lee Toussaint will be officiating the funeral service.
Ms. Sonnierโs memories are being cherished by: her two daughters, Bernadette Toussaint (Gerald) of Opelousas, LA and Carla Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, Joseph (Mary) Thompson and Hallien (Aggie) Thompson, both of Leonville, LA; three sisters, Velma Thompson of Texas City, TX, Vivian Major of Opelousas, LA and Catherine Thompson of Leonville, LA; a special friend, James Brumfield; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Bernadette Reed Thompson; one son, Charles Thompson; two sisters, Lillian Sonnier and Everla Zachary; one son-in-law, Robin Jackson; and grandchildren, Carl Sonnier, Jasmine Sonnier and Jermaine Sonnier.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church.
