Obituary For Leon Babineaux, Jr.

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Leon Babineaux, Jr., 69, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Frank L. Ford, Pastor of Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Babineaux’s memories are being cherished by: his three sons, Leon (Mary) Ford of Opelousas, LA, Rodrick (Rachel) Smith of Temecula, CA and Kevin (Pamela) Lemons of Ville Platte, LA; one daughter, Shaquana Lemons of Ville Platte, LA; two brothers, Joseph (Mary) Babineaux of Baton Rouge, LA and Alvin Babineaux of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Laurie Babineaux of Opelousas, LA and Ommanda Major (Mark) of Lafayette, LA; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Leonce and Theresa Hall Babineaux, Sr.; his significant other, Patricia Faye Lemons; and two sisters, Cheryl Babineaux Forbes and Katy Babineaux.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
