PRAIRIE RONDE - Memorial service and Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde , LA for Mrs. Linda Carriere, 74, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at her residence in Lafayette, LA. Interment will immediately follow.
Father Mark Ledoux of St Peters Catholic Church of Carencro, La will be officiating the memorial service.
Mrs. Carriere loved her family and teaching. She taught at Opelousas High School for 24 years and Northwest High School for 5 years.
Mrs. Carriere leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, John Donald Carriere of Lafayette, LA; one son, Scott (Hailey) Carriere of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Caroline Brown of Carencro, LA; a very special friend of the family, Father Gary Schexnaider; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ryan and Ruby Johnson Brown and a host of family and friends.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Lafayette Nursing Service and Acadian Hospice for the excellent care provided to their loved one during her time of need.

Linda was my best friend for years. I was unable to attend her memorial service due to illness. There are insufficient words to express my love for her. I miss her very much. If anyone could be pure enough to enter Heaven, Linda would be that person! Renella Stoute Kendall
