Obituary For Malachi Davieon Broussard
MORROW - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at St. Luke Baptist Church, 2391 Petite Prairie Rd., Morrow, LA for Malachi Davieon Broussard, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Poppy”, 9 yrs. old, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Rev. Murphy Riggs, Pastor of St. Luke Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Malachi’s memories are being cherished by: his mother, Mrs. LaKeisha Washington Broussard of Hessmer, LA and his father, Mr. David Broussard, Jr. of Jeanerette, LA; paternal grandparents, David and Stella Broussard, Sr. of Alexandria, LA; maternal grandparents, Janis Walker (Harry) of Hessmer, LA; maternal great grandmother, Alice Chaney of Morrow, LA; five brothers, Tobias and Elijah Washington, both of Hessmer, LA, David Curtis of St. Martinville, QuanDae and Dav’onte Broussard, both of Houston, TX; six sisters, Averie Broussard, Maleayha Washington, Madison Joubert, Breneisha Washington and Akira Powell, all of Hessmer, LA and Ishameeiah George of Houston, TX; 1 nephew, Rayvin Washington; Godbrothers, Javonte Washington, Da’Quan Harrison, and Makyri McKenzie and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his brother, Jarrell Joubert; maternal grandfather, Lawrence Bazile, Jr.; maternal great grandfather, Willie Washington; paternal great grandparents, Rose Neal Harrison, Paul Hopkins, Frank Broussard and Shirley Broussard.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church.

Our sweet Poppy. You will forever be a light for all who knew and loved you. Your time on Earth was not long enough, but your impact will be felt for eternity. I'm praying for peace and comfort for Poppy's amazing mother and father, as they truly were some of the best parents and advocates that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Prayers for his siblings as they enter this new chapter and that God guides them as they navigate through their grief, especially Miss Averie. I am truly thankful for you all allowing me to have played a small role in caring for Poppy, and he has a permanent place in my heart.
