Obituary For Malakyah Weston

PLAISANCE - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at St. Mark Baptist Church in the Plaisance Community for Malakyah Weston, 11 months, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Rev. Jason Rubin, Pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.

Malakyah’s memories are being cherished by: his father, Michael Weston of Jackson, MS and his mother, Mary Braden of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Seneca Kelly; one sister, Senaria Kelly; paternal grandmother, Myrtis Weston of Jackson, MS; great grandmother, Mary Lucille Burleigh of Opelousas, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews and relatives.

He is preceded in death by: his brother, Sentrell Kelly; maternal grandparents, Cleveland Braden and Annie Lee Burleigh Braden; paternal grandfather, Preston Johnson; two uncles, Bernice Braden and R.L. Weston; and an aunt, Shirley Weston.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church.
