LEONVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Leonville, LA for Mrs. Martha Ann Mantel, 72, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church Cemetery in Leonville, LA.
Fr. Darren Eldridge will celebrate the mass.
Mrs. Mantel’s memories are being cherished by: her mother, Mary Roberts of Opelousas, LA; two sons, John Lazare and Bradley Lazare, both of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Tawanna Mantel and Laqueta Mantel, both of Opelousas, LA; one bonus daughter (niece), Ezola Reed (Danny) of Opelousas, LA; one bonus son, Albert (Thelma) Robert of Opelousas, LA; three bonus daughters, Tammy Brown (Kenneth) and Vickie Moten (Sidney), both of Lafayette, LA and Stephanie Ollison (Carl) of Carencro, LA; two sisters, Carrie Lazare of Opelousas, LA and Patricia Lazare (Cleveland) of Leonville, LA; fifteen grandchildren, Javante, Jaycoby, Dylan, Kayja, Kaylun, Jaylun, Ashun, Jeremiah, Malaycia, Janiah, Aaliyah, Jaswalia, Kadian, Miracle and Paisley; one great grandchild, Wes Mason Nathan; three Godchildren, Roland Henry, Frank Lazare and Sylvester Lazare; best friend, Shereva Green of Opelousas, LA; and one niece, a host of nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her late spouse, Felix Ned; maternal grandparents, Peter and Mary Boast and Pat Roberts; two children, Jason Lazare and Paulette Lazare; and one sister, Barbara Batiste.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss Martha and I were friends when younger we played and talk together at Rita Majors house very often and work at Charcoal.
