Obituary For Mary Chambers

LEBEAU- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 103 Lebeau Church Rd., Lebeau, LA for Mrs. Mary Margaret Chambers, 75, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Fr. James Fallon, S.S.J. will be officiating the funeral mass. Mrs. Chambers leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Alexis Dewey Chambers of LeMoyen, LA; two sons, Alexis Dewey Chambers, Jr. (Sarita) of LeMoyen, LA and Melvin Joseph Chambers (Karen) of Opelousas, LA; four daughters, Debby Chambers (James) and Racqueal Monique Chambers, both of Lebeau, LA, Gwendolyn Chambers of Morrow, LA and Appollonia Chambers-Fontenot (Kenderick) of Opelousas, LA; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Elmer Smith and Ethel Randell Smith; one brother, Joseph Elmer Smith; two sisters, JoAnn Chambers and Dianne Marie Miles; and two grandchildren, Mar’Quriyah Chambers and Keyen Fontenot. Visitation will be observed from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Ford and Joseph Funeral Home, 907 N. Market St., Opelousas, LA, is in charge of arrangements.
