OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas LA at 12:00 p.m. for Mrs. Mary Doucet Robertson, 87, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Mrs. Robertson’s memories are being cherished by: her son, Mitchell J. Doucet of Opelousas, LA; one God daughter she raised as a daughter, Cheryl D. Cain (Reynold) of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Sgt. Robert Doucet of Anaheim, CA; two brothers-in-law, William “Joe Louis” Rosette, Jr. and Calvin (Pat) Rosette, both of Opelousas, LA; four sisters-in-law, Georgia Dussette and Vernita R. Chambers, Theresa Rosette and Beanna Roberson, all of Opelousas, LA; two step sons, Joseph Kevin (Beanna) Robertson and Don F. Robertson, both of Opelousas, LA; four step daughters, Beverly A. Robertson, Pamela R. Rand (John), Debbie R. Green (Weldon), all of Houston, TX and Leah Leday of Opelousas, LA; step daughter-in-law, Laura J. Robertson of Opelousas, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and special friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Wilma Lynn Robertson; her parents, Semar and Lorena Prince Doucet; three brothers, William G. Dussette, Leroy J. Doucet, Sr. (Joyce) and Albert Doucet (Virginia); one sister, Adlene D. Davenport; six brothers-in-law, J.D. Robertson, Wilfred Robertson, Johnell Rosette, Lionel Rosette, Herman “M.C.” Rosette and Vernon Rosette; four sisters-in-law, Shirley R. Mayo, Doretha “Connie” Rosette, Justine T. Rosette and Lela Robinson; four step sons, Michael R. Robertson, Wilma Earl Robertson (Laura), John Kirt Robertson, Sr. and Jonathan Wayne Robertson, Sr.; one step daughter, Bridgette D. Robertson; one nephew, Leroy Doucet, Jr.; and two nieces, Erica M. Doucet and Marilyn Doucet.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
