Obituary For Mary Pickney

OPELOUSAS โ€“ A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home for Ms. Mary Louise Pickney, affectionately known by her family and friends as โ€œWeezeโ€, 70, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 15, 2025, at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto, LA.

Ms. Pickneyโ€™s memories are being cherished by: her son, Derrick Thomas of Port Barre, LA; two brothers, Rayfield Pickney and Joseph Pickney (Geraldine Jones), both of Port Barre, LA; one sister, Carolyn Thomas (Joseph) of Breaux Bridge, LA; three grandchildren, Reese Thomas, Reign Thomas and Kobi Thomas; her loving longtime companion, John Rideaux of Port Barre, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Pickney and Mary Joyce Pickney and her sister-in-law, Polly Pickney.
