OPELOUSAS โ A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home for Ms. Mary Louise Pickney, affectionately known by her family and friends as โWeezeโ, 70, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 15, 2025, at Tri-Community Nursing Home in Palmetto, LA.
Ms. Pickneyโs memories are being cherished by: her son, Derrick Thomas of Port Barre, LA; two brothers, Rayfield Pickney and Joseph Pickney (Geraldine Jones), both of Port Barre, LA; one sister, Carolyn Thomas (Joseph) of Breaux Bridge, LA; three grandchildren, Reese Thomas, Reign Thomas and Kobi Thomas; her loving longtime companion, John Rideaux of Port Barre, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Pickney and Mary Joyce Pickney and her sister-in-law, Polly Pickney.
