CHURCH POINT - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 693 N. Main Street, Church Point, LA for Ms. Merline “Ta-Tart” Lorden, 58, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. Interment will be in Body of Christ Cemetery. Fr. Bart Landry, CSP will be officiating the funeral mass. Ms. Lorden leaves to cherish her memories: her companion for over 20 years, Michael Angelle of Church Point, LA; five sons, Marcus (Gwendolyn) Lorden of Lake Charles, LA, Kenneth (Audrey) Lorden of Church Point, LA, Dominick (Shaquanna) Landry and Donald Lorden, both of Houston, TX and David Guillory, Jr. of Church Point, LA; five daughters, Mary Lorden Wheeler (Gustin), La’tasha Citizen (Travis), Alicia Landry and Jessica Lorden, all of Church Point, LA and Stephanie Angelle of Houston, TX; five brothers, Wilbert (Patsy) Lorden of Lawtell, LA, Merlin (Evelyn) Lorden of Lake Charles, LA, Joseph (Jessica) Lorden of Church Point, LA, Kenneth Lorden of College Station, TX and Russell Lorden of Maryland; 30+ grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ms. Lorden was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lorden and two nephews, Quentin Lorden and Joseph Smith. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.
