Obituary For Merline Winbush

OPELOUSAS - Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Merline Winbush, 64, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Calcutta House in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Kevin Winbush will be officiating the funeral service.

Mrs. Winbush’s memories are being cherished by: her husband, Russell Winbush, Sr. of Lafayette, LA; one son, Quinn Winbush, Sr. of Portland, OR; one brother, Wilbert Tyler of Opelousas, LA; four grandchildren, Keegan Winbush and Payden Winbush, both of Carencro, LA, Quinn Winbush, Jr. and Kashton Winbush, both of Portland, OR; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Adam and Georgianna Boast Tyler; two sons, Broderick Winbush and Russell Winbush, Jr.; five brothers, Michael Tyler, Matthew Tyler, Poochie Tyler, Murphy Tyler and Merlin Tyler; and her adopted mother, Ruth Boast.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
