Obituary For Ms. Jessie Morris

OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church for Ms. Jessie Morris, 77, who entered eternal rest on Monday, December 29, 2025 at her residence. Interment will be held in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Ms. Morris’ memories are being cherished by: her three sons, Kevin (Rachel) Babineaux of Opelousas, LA, Jermaine (Marie) Babineaux of Sunset, LA, and Jude (Brooke) Morris, Jr. of Rayne, LA; one daughter, Christy Morris of Opelousas, LA; five brothers, Mack (Mary) Babineau, Jr. of Opelousas, LA, Jerome (Tonia) Babineaux, Charles (Linda) Babineaux, Gilbert Babineaux all of Houston, TX; Michael Bocard of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Cynthia Lewis of Opelousas, LA and Dorothy Brown (Herbert) of Houston, TX; four Godchildren, Jamie Pickney of Houston, TX, LaVar (Mahogany) Babineaux of Kinder, LA, and Crystal Milburn of Opelousas, LA; Jamarcus Pickney; sixteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Mack and Georgiana Babineaux; four brothers, Larry Babineaux, Jimmy Babineaux, Kenneth Babineaux, and McKinley Babineaux, Sr., two aunts, Mary Pirece and Rosa Collins; and three uncles, Melvin Collins, Sr., Paul Collins, and Gervis Collins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
