Obituary For Ora Dee Sam Semien
WASHINGTON - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, 234 True Vine Baptist Church, Washington, LA for Mrs. Ora Dee Sam Semien, 83, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Haymarket, VA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Rev. Allen Freeman, Pastor of True Vine Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mrs. Semien’s memories are being cherished by: her son, Malcolm (Corina) Simien of Fredricksburg, VA; three daughters, Lynette Sam of Houston, TX, Karen Johnson (Terrance) of Haymarket, VA and Stephanie Richard of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Felton (Maxie) Sam of Opelousas, LA; two brothers-in-law, Albert Simien and Emmerick (Brenda) Simien, both of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Labbe (Hayward, Sr.) and Theresa Simien, both of Lake Charles, LA and Mary Lee Sam of Opelousas, LA; ten grandchildren, Brianna Miller, Malcolm Simien, Jr., Kendall Richard, MaKenzie Richard, Kianna Simien, Kassidy Richard, Simien Johnson, Korena Simien, Myles Lewis and Malachi Simien; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Merrick Semien; her parents, Clarence and May Sam; three brothers, Elton Sam, David Sam and Elijah Sam; three sisters, Mary Dee Sam, Odelia Chambers and Ruby Small Davis; and one nephew, Felton Sam, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 10:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church.
