MR. OZEME BEN “POOCHIE” SCOTT
PLAISANCE - Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Mohorn Baptist Church, 219 Cosay Rd., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Ozeme Ben Scott, affectionately known as “Poochie”, 73, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Rev. Nicholas Thomas, Pastor of Mohorn Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
Mr. Scott leaves to cherish his memories: ex-wife, Shirley Leday of Opelousas, LA; three daughters, Angela Scott and Felicia Scott, both of Lafayette, LA and Alicia Scott of Opelousas, LA; three step sons, Marcus Scott and Pearson (Kelly) Leday, both of Opelousas, LA and Damien (Brandie) Morris of Ville Platte, LA; one step daughter, Jessica Collins (Jerry) of Gonzales, LA; two brothers, Emile James Scott of Opelousas, LA and John Edward Scott of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Anna Bell Scott and Leenell Mitchell, both of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Amos and Eva Celestine Scott; three brothers, Caffery Lee Scott, Lee Manuel and Amos Scott, Jr.; three sisters, Ada Lou Edwards, Julia May Rideau and Augustine Jackson; and one grandchild, Precious Deon Scott.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Mohorn Baptist Church.
