PALMETTO – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 107 Nursing Home St., Palmetto, LA for Mr. Paul Thomas, Sr., 74, who entered eternal rest on Monday, September 2, 2024 in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery in Lebeau, LA.
Bishop Leon Figgins, Pastor of St. Matthews Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Thomas’ memories are being cherished by: three sons, Lois Phipps, Sr., Paul Thomas, Jr. and Marcus Thomas, all of New Orleans, LA; one daughter, Rashelle Thomas of Opelousas, LA; five brothers, George (Delores) Thomas, Sr. and Michael (Cynthia) Thomas, both of Avondale, LA, Joseph (Al) Thomas, Sr. of Crowley, LA, Daniel (Sharon) Thomas, Sr. of Riverdale, GA and Luke (Vonda) Thomas, Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA; three sisters, Clara D. Dumes, Theresa Duckless (Paul) and Juanita Cane (Eugene), all of Palmetto, LA; twelve grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Lavearn Thomas; his parents, George and Louise Davis, Sr.; one brother, Learance Thomas; three sisters, Genevieve Charles, Mary Thomas and Earnestine Thomas; and one grandson, Christopher Rideau.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church.

Paul will be missed, he always had something funny to say. I spoke with him 3wks ago and as usual he had something funny to say. He will be missed, I'm glad a had a opportunity to be a friend and sister in law. RIP until we meet again.
