OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Rodgers Williams, Sr., 76, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at West Jefferson Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Interment will be in St. Mary Baptist Church Cemetery in Port Barre, LA.
Rev. Burnell Times, Associate Minister of Starlight Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Brett Semien, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Williams’ memories are being cherished by: his wife, Mrs. Gilda Snyder Williams of Harvey, LA; one son, Rodgers (Rachel) Williams, Jr. of Camden County, GA; Marion Michelle Starks of Slidell, LA and Cynthia Marie Williams (Glenn) of Baltimore, MD; five brothers, Lester Williams of Houston, TX, Wilfred Times (Chris) of Gonzales, LA, Rev. Burnell Times (Merline) of New Orleans, LA, Kerry Williams (Dena) of Opelousas, LA and Donald Bob (Karen) of Plano, TX; one sister, Juanita Williams pf Opelousas, LA; four grandchildren, Gilda Marie Starks, Phaedra Arianna Starks, Gabriel Austin and Tristan Austin; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Jesse Williams, Sr. and Octavia Turner Williams Bob; two brothers, Jesse Williams, Jr. and Henry Times; and one sister, Juquita Williams Bob.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
