LAWTELL – Graveside service for Mr. Ronald John Auzenne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery in Lawtell, LA. On September 7, 2020, God called a remarkable soul, Ronald John Auzenne, to eternal rest. Ronald was born December 26, 1954 to the late Clifton “Do” Auzenne and Bernice Dugar Auzenne. He was a graduate of Opelousas High School and T.H Harris Technical College in Opelousas, Louisiana. Opelousas was his beloved hometown but New Orleans captured his heart at the age of eighteen while employed at The Louisiana State Museum as a Facility Maintenance Supervisor. Shortly after, while visiting his family back home in Opelousas, Ronald met and fell in love with Brenda Marie Bellard. He and Brenda wed October 26, 1974. After Brenda became pregnant with the couple’s first born, Martina, Ronald decided to seek second employment at Ochsner Hospital as a Health Information Management Coordinator in order to ensure financial security for his growing family. For over 35 years and 4 kids later, Ronald balanced his time being a devoted family man and a dedicated employee. He rarely missed a day of work! In 2006, after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Ronald decided to retire from The Louisiana State Museum. He enjoyed his free time attending New Orleans Pelicans Basketball games with his wife and children, watching New Orleans Saints Football games, landscaping the yard, and spending quality time with his family. Ronald was still employed at Ochsner Hospital until his heavenly departure. He exemplified hard work, commitment, and true perseverance.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Auzenne. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Brenda Auzenne; his five children, Martina Auzenne, Ron Auzenne (Rosalyn), Melanie Auzenne, James Auzenne, and Joycelyn Auzenne; two grandchildren, Nyla Auzenne, Jackson Auzenne; his mother, Bernice Auzenne; his sister, Mary Craven; and niece, Chastity Craven; a god-daughter, Eulanda Shaw Hardy, and a grandpup, Oatmeal “Oaty”.

Ronald was a great cousin and a jovial spirit! He was a loyal, caring supporter of the White family. He endured a bitter tragedy with strength and courage. Ronald always greeted us with a warm hello, a big smile, and a generous container of Brenda's delicious pralines! He was always willing to cut all the okra that he ate . He was a blessing to our family. Mercedes, Joe jr., Stephanie
