OPELOUSAS - Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Ronald Ray Jenkins, Sr., affectionately known as “Ray”, 71, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in the Bellevue Community.
Pastor Dwight Brown of St. Peter Baptist Church will be officiating the funeral service. Mr. Jenkins was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. He was also a Free Mason of the Keystone Lodge #196.
Mr. Jenkins leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Catherine Jenkins of Opelousas, LA; two sons, Ronald “Wook” (Claudia) Jenkins, Jr. and Darrell Jackson, both of Opelousas, LA; four daughters, Sharonda Jackson, Denise Jenkins Comeaux, Tiffany Jenkins and Ashley Jenkins, all of Opelousas, LA; two brothers, Gerald (Donna) Jenkins of Hayward, CA and Donald Jenkins of Carencro, LA; two sisters, Dianne McLendon (John) of Houston, TX and Valerie Prescott (Floyd) of Opelousas, LA; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Risman Jenkins, Sr. and Josie Lewis Jenkins; one son, Brandon Thomas; one brother, Risman Jenkins, Jr.; one sister, Patricia Thibodeaux; a grandson, Tyrrell Jenkins; and son-in-law, Aaron “Perry” Comeaux, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
