OPELOUSAS – Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Greater Live Oak Baptist Church in Opelousas for Mrs. Rose Mary Pickney Lazare, 74, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Greater Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Opelousas.
Mrs. Lazare was a member of Greater Union Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board.
Mrs. Lazare’s memories are being cherished by: her three sons, Alfred Lazare (Nikki), Sammy Lazare and Timothy Lazare, all of Opelousas, LA; six daughters, Laura Pitre, Viola Lavine (Mark), Brenda Bell (Judas), Josie L. Frank (Chad), Ida Lazare and Trecie Lazare, all of Opelousas, LA; one special daughter, Mary A. J ones of Opelousas, LA; a special son, Harry (Nicole) Cunningham of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Ida Pickney Cunningham of Houston, TX; thirty-two grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Rufus Lazare, Jr.; her parents, Harry and Irene Pickney; one son, Daniel Lazare, Sr.; and one brother, Sammy Pickney.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Greater Live Oak Baptist Church.
