Obituary For Roy Lee Brown, Jr.

BUNKIE – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Second Union Baptist Church in Bunkie, LA for Mr. Roy Lee Brown, Jr., 75, who entered eternal rest on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Rev. Christopher Ardoin, Pastor of Second Union Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Brown was a faithful and dedicated member of Second Union Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent of the Sunday School Department.

Mr. Brown’s memories are being cherished by: his two sons, Roy Lee Brown, III of Las Vegas, NV and Ryan Jamal (Farrah) Brown of Bloomfield, NJ; devoted companion, Mona Gorrell of Bunkie, LA; one sister, Doris Fontenot of Bunkie, LA; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Roy Brown, Sr. and Mary Bell Brown; one son, Kendrick Dwayne Brown, Sr.; and God sister, Angela “Pat” Robinson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Second Union Baptist Church.
