OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Thelma Dean Mason, 87, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be held in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA.

Fr. Justin Arockiasamy, SVD will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mrs. Mason’s memories are being cherished by: her son, Charles Craig (Shenita) Mason, Sr. of Lafayette, LA; her daughter, Margaret Mason Jones (Gerald) of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Alisa L. Jones, Cherise Mason and Charles Mason, Jr.; one great grandchild, Rylee Mason; son in law, Bruce Hicks; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, William C. Mason, Jr.; two daughters, Karla M. Hicks and Angela Renee +Mason; her grandson, Brandon A. Hicks; her parents, Norman and Lovenia Ned Dean; two brothers, Manuel and Norman Dean; two sisters, Ellen Dean Levier and Helen Dean; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
