RAYNE - Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne, LA for Mr. Thomas âTJâ Sonnier, II, 74, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Father Joe Champion and Father Emmanuel Awe will be officiating the funeral mass.
Mr. Sonnier was a member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne, LA. He belonged to numerous clubs and organizations.
Mr. Sonnier leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Gloria Joseph Sonnier of Rayne, LA; one son, Thomas J. Sonnier, III (Colencia Davidson) of Humble, TX; three daughters, Kimesha E. Sonnier of Houston, TX, Gwendolyn Callier (Bobby) of Lafayette, LA and Venita Rollins of New Orleans, LA; one step brother, Lloyd Antoine of Eunice, LA; thirteen grandchildren, Thomas J. Sonnier, IV, Robert Callier, Ellis Callier, Leland Callier, Tahariah Sonnier, Tamia Sonnier, Toren Sonnier, Trevien Sonnier, Taylen Sonnier, Taliyah Sonnier, Tori Sonnier, Talaya Sonnier and Corey D. Saunders; one great granddaughter on the way, Summer Callier; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Classie LeBlanc and Ethel Sonnier; one brother, Dewayne LeBlanc; and one sister, Wanda LeBlanc.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.

Mr. Sonnier was one of the most genuine, caring people I have been honored to know.
