Obituary For Wanda Lee Dixon Andrus

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, 217 LA-10, Opelousas, LA, 70570, for Mrs. Wanda Andrus, 96, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Mom-Me” and “Wanda Woman”, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 in Opelousas, LA.

Seven prayers of comfort, led by seven ministers.

Mrs. Andrus’ memories are being cherished by: her daughter, Shelia Marie Dixon Thomas of Opelousas, LA; two grandchildren, Joseph Thomas III (Patrice) of Opelousas, LA and Jzsamanek Thomas Harold (Lorenzo) of Addis, LA; four great grandchildren, Kaisley Thomas and Kash Thomas, both of Opelousas, LA, Laila Harold and Jianna Harold, both of Addis, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Earl Andrus; her mother, Nathilee Dixon James; one brother, Willie Charles Dixon; stepsons, Jacob, Arthur, Isaac and Adam; stepdaughters, Mattie and Lula Mae; son-in-law, Joseph Thomas, Jr.; and other beloved family members with whom she has reunited with.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church.
