Obituary For Wayne Anthony Nix
OPELOUSAS – A memorial service will be held from 6 pm -8 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas for Wayne Anthony Nix, 65, who entered eternal rest at Opelousas General Health Systems on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Rev. Michael Massey will be officiating the memorial service.
He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Anthony Nix of Plaisance, LA; three sisters, Ruby Milton of Vinton, LA; Janice Nix-Victorian (Wilfred) of Opelousas, LA; and Sherry Nix of Plaisance; three brothers, Jessie Nix (Anna), Jake Nix and Willie Nix (Lillie), of Plaisance, LA.; his wife, Drenetta Grant Nix of Opelousas, LA; two sons Wayne Nix II (Ayanna), of Tomball, TX, and Carlos Julien (Andrea), of New Orleans, LA; one daughter Neka Rhymes (Thomas) of Carencro, LA; nine grandchildren Vaughndalynne Brown, Dylan Despenza of Atlanta, GA, Elana Taylor of Tomball, Tx.; Kalie Fletcher, Kristian Julien and Andrew Julien of New Orleans; Antonio Dodd (Angelica), Destiny Dodd of Carencro, LA; Kianna Dodd of Humble TX; a host of great-grandchildren, Skylar Moore of Atlanta, GA, Xerenity Trimble, Antonio Dodd Jr., Reghan Dodd, Kai’Lani Reeder all of Carencro LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lee Anna Tezeno Nix; a sister Rose Mary Nix Fournier; two brothers, Roland and Ronnie Nix; a nephew, Al Gerard Fournier; a great nephew, Christopher Johnson Milton; a brother-in-law Roy Milton; maternal grandparents, Wesley and Lorena Prudhomme Tezeno; paternal grandparents Jake and Louise Fruge’ Nix; and his godparents, Mary Ophelia and Louis Ledet.
