OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Willie Joseph Lavergne, Jr., 65, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at The Carpenter’s House in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Minister Kip Guilbeau will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Lavergne’s memories are being cherished by: his loving spouse, Brenda Frank Lavergne of Opelousas, LA; two sons, William D. (Jaimie) and D’Andre C. (Victoria) Lavergne, both of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Dezarae Provost (Ronald Guillory) of Lafayette, LA; one brother, Dale (Denise) Lavergne of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Alma Fontenot of Opelousas, LA; one aunt, Daisy Odeell (Clarence) of Beaumont, TX; six grandchildren, Hailey Provost, Justice Provost, Nuri Lavergne, Isaac Lavergne, Aiden Lavergne and Levi Lavergne, all of Opelousas, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Willie Joseph and Betty Jones Lavergne, Sr.; two brothers, Ronald and Terry Lavergne; paternal grandparents, Lawrence Lavergne, Sr. and Celestine Ford Lavergne; maternal grandparents, Horace Jones, Sr. and Alma Jones; and brother-in-law, Oliver Fontenot.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God In Christ.
