Obituary For Willie Paul Green

OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 1432 W. Landry Street, Opelousas, LA for Mr. Willie Paul Green, 83, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point, LA. Interment will be in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Cemetery #1 in Church Point, LA.

Rev. Justin Arockiasamy, S.V.D., will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Green’s memories are being cherished by: his two sons, Kelvin Green and Shelton Jones (Jacqualine), both of Opelousas, LA; three sisters, Rubynell Green Doyle of Opelousas, LA, Gladys Hagen and Margie Carter, both of New Orleans, LA; one brother-in-law, Charles Motley of Cleveland, OH; one sister-in-law, Martha Green of Houston, TX; two inherited brothers, James Ronald Green, Sr. (Elizabeth) and Perry Lee Green (Sharon), both of Houston, TX; three inherited sisters, Evelyn Ann Green, Chereva Green Celestine (Johnny) and Lisa Green (Godchild), all of Opelousas, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, George and Agnes Green, (Gilbert and Aline Chevis Leger); one son, Paul Willie Green Jr.; one sister, Marilyn Motley; and one brother, Joseph Lionel Green, and Geraldine Green.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
