Funeral service for Demetrius Jo Russell Jones will be Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1pm , in the chapel of Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home. Public visitation is Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 4pm until 6pm at Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home.
Demetrius was born on Monday, July 2, 1956, in Louisville, KY to Ulles and Betty Jo Russell. She exchanged this earthly life for eternity on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
Demetrius was preceded in death by her parents, Ulles and Betty Jo Russell; grandparents, Joe and Ella Mae Berry, and O.T. Russell; one brother, Roosevelt Russell; four sisters, Julia Mae Wickliffe, Rev. Carla Denise Blevins, Debra Russell and Evonne Locke. Those left to cherish her memories are her: son, Juandra L. Pierce; a daughter, Patrice L. (Aundrey) Hubbard; grandchildren, LaPrecious Pierce, Alexis Pierce, Amari Pierce, J amaya Pierce; great grandchildren, Jamauri Pierce, Jaxon Pierce, Goddess Pierce and Yarah Pierce; sister, Yvonne (Darryl) Smith of Louisville, KY; brother, Vernon E. Russell; aunt, Naomi McGhee of Gadsden, AL; nieces, Shiryuko Dennis, Erica Wickliffe, Terri Rudolph, Ebony Russell, Rev. LaTonya Tolbert, LaMonia Stone, Rev. LaShonda Fletcher, Alicia Smith, Shantay Locke and Carla Locke, La'Shella M. Russell, C'Andra S. Evans and Cher'Ryon S. Evans; nephews, Robert Wickliffe, Quan Russell, Steve Smith, Jr., Roosevelt L. Russell, Jr., La'Jarius D. Russell and Louis M. Ray; a host of other relatives and many, many friends.
