Jackie received her early education in Gadsden Public Schools and later transferred to Etowah County schools and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1977, where she was the first black cheerleader in the history of the school. She also graduated from Michigan State University in 1985. Other notable accomplishments: Jackie was a delegate for the Huron Girl Scouts of America, where she was instrumental and setting bylaws for the entire institution.
She accepted Christ an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Glencoe, AL, and in Weston Creek under the leadership of the late Rev. Jimmy Terry later in her teens. She met a man of God, Bishop Bobby Davis and became a member of the Spiritual Israel Church and It’s Army in Gadsden, AL. Jackie later moved to Michigan, where she continued to serve on the nurses board and as a member of the mass choir. She also served as secretary of the form recreation committee at Israel Gardens.
Jackie was blessed with an angelic voice, and her first love was singing before leaving Glencoe. She served and recorded with the Charlie Nelms Singers of Gadsden, AL. After moving to Michigan, she sang and recorded with the Unity Spiritual Singers under the leadership of Deacon Tyrone Steele, Sr. She was among the first black hired at the gas and fire department.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Lovell Pinson, Sr; mother, Bertha Bush Pinson; brother, Minister Christopher Pinson and step-son Ronald Hare, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving husband of 35 years, Ronald Hare, Sr. of New Boston, MI; beautiful children, Angelique Davis and Angelette Davis of Covington, GA, Samantha Chatman and Reginald Hare of New Boston, MI, Eric Hare of Inkster, MI and Terrell Hare of Detroit, MI; siblings, Lovell Pinson, Jr. of Gadsden, AL, Aretha Johnson, Lakewood, NJ, Ruby (Pinson) Ditele of Wheatley Heights, NY, Donald Ray Pinson of E. Gadsden, AL and Ricky Pinson (Sherrel) of Tampa FL, and as close of a sister Myrna Avery of Gadsden, AL. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
