Mrs. Mary A. Ragland 60, was born in Gadsden, AL. on October 12, 1961, to the late Lonnie and Mary Marrie of Attalla, AL. She departed this life on January 20, 2022, at Riverview Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Ragland, parents, Lonnie and Mary Marrie; brothers, Harold Marrie, David Williams, Willie Potter, Roosevelt Potter, and sister Fredia Marrie.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age, and although she did not attend church regularly, she always maintained a prayer room and stood strong in her faith. She graduated from Etowah High School, Gadsden Business College, and completed the LPN program at Gadsden State. She worked as an LPN until 1989.
Mary Ragland's memory will live on through her family and children; Elisha L. Marrie(W. D.), Torlonia R. Williams (Ramade), James A. Marrie (Monica), Jessie J. Marrie, and Sophia D. Ragland (Corey); grandchildren, Darius Rudolph, Jamal Marrie, JaMichael Marrie, Takara Blount, Dante Rudolph, Tabitha Collins, Jamia Rudolph, J'Quaria Marrie Williams, Jessica Riddle, Corey Ragland-Jones, Zykiria Brooks, Jaryus Marrie Williams, Dejuan Riddle, Zaniyah Brooks, Donna Riddle, Rihanna Shockley, Jatyrah Ragland-Jones, Mason Higgins, and Aaliyah Ragland; nineteen great grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Harden, Lonnie Johnson (William), Rosie Crook; brothers, Johnny Marrie (Joyce), Ralph Marrie, and a host of other cherished relatives and friends.
