Obituary For Michael Glenn Brookins

With deepest condolences we announce the passing of Mr. Michael Brookins, who transitioned on May 28, 2026.

Michael was born February 16, 1960 to in Gadsden, AL. He was adopted by Henry and Nancy Brookins at 6 weeks of age.

He confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church in East Gadsden. He later joined Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. G.E. Robinson, where he was ordained as served as a minister.

He received his formal education in the Gadsden Public School System and graduated in 1978. He went on to work at Gulf State Steel for 19 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, traveling and hanging with the fellows.

In 1994, he was joined in holy matrimony with Mrs. Teresa Ann Spears Brooks. Through this union, a blended family was formed that included four boys and one girl: Marlon (Latisha) Harris, Deginald Spears, Michael Dee Brookins, Eizele Spears and Whitney Brookins.

He departed this earthly life on Friday, May 29, 2026. He was preceded in death by his birth and adopted parents; sisters, Marian Jean Brookins, Sheila Vinson and Linda Faye Vinson; brother, Donald Vinson.

Those left to cherish his memories and mourn his passing: his wife, Teresa Brookins; children, Marlon (Latisha) Harris, Michael Dee Brookins, and Whitney Brookins; his bonus children, Deginald Spears and Eizele Spears; brother, Earl Vinson; 20 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
