Richard James Walton, Jr. was born on September 8, 1948, and passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, surrounded by love and family. Though his time on earth has come to an end, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Richard James Walton, Jr. was the son of Richard Walton, Sr., Virginia McAfee Walton and the adopted son of Louise McAfee Swain. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and family member who deeply loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Richard Walton, Sr. and Virginia McAfee Walton, adopted mother, Louise McAfee Swain and sister, Dorothy Louise Swain Crook.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Donna (Anthony) Zinn; son, Richard James Walton, III; his sisters, Patricia (Edmond) Danzier, Valerie (Steve) Marshall, Gwendolyn (Glen) Smith, Rochelle, Doris, Annette and Arlette Walton; brothers, Eddie and Leonard Walton; grandkids Anthony, Andrew, Ayana, and Ananda Zinn; Deonta, Tanjaneka and Tierra Walton; 9 Great Grandkids; special nieces, Lenisha Crook and Regina Crook Leonard; special cousins, Shelia Gordon, Makeisha Gordon Davis and Catherine Hood.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the memories we shared with Richard James Walton, Jr. and in the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him. His legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will continue to live on.
