We celebrate the life of Mr. Sedrick Termaine Adams, who was born on May 6, 1989, to Walter Lee Adams Sr. and Deborah Louise Glover Adams.
Sedrick began his education in the Gadsden Public School System. He was a member of the first graduating class of Gadsden City High School, the Class of 2007. He continued his education at The Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL, where he graduated in 2012. As a student he was popular among students and faculty. Sedrick was commissioned by the University President to work in the Campus Career Center Dept. to assist students with employment. He was also lead percussionist of the Alabama State Mighty Marching Hornets Band, and he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega and Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Inc.
Sedrick loved life and his community. He had a giving heart and was always willing to help those in need. Some of his community involvement was with the Montgomery Biscuits Baseball team and the Durdy Boyz Montgomery Chapter.
His career began at Alfa Insurance Corporation as a Computer Engineer, in Montgomery, AL, where he was employed for nine years.
He was united in love with Lori Jakalia Rigby, and to this union one son was born, Jalen Tremaine Adams. Sedrick was a proud father and cherished every moment he spent with his son.
Sedrick was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Adams, Sr; brother, Walter L. Adams, Jr.; sister, Temika Adams Miller; and nephew, Malik Rashad Bothwell. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his mother, Deborah Louise Adams; fiance’, Lori Jakalia Rigby; son, Jalen T. Adams; special niece/daughter, Kee Kee Williams; special niece, Kamya Lee Adams; special nephew, M. J. Miller; aunts, Pearlie Mae Hamilton, Ekra (Toney) Tolbert, Louise Golson, Barbara (Byron) Cook, Wanda (Clarence) Canada, Mary (John) Scissum, Robbie Allen, Renea (Rodney) Hicks, Debra Crumpler and Millie Mostella; uncles, J.C. Reynolds, Michael (Rose) Costephens and Curtis (LaQuinta) Crumpler; special uncle, Anthony (Lisha) Keith; god parents, Xavier and Jackie Davis; special cousins, Chanda Costephens, Michelle Costephens and Val Costephens all of Oklahoma; Gertie and Charita LaBeach of Toledo, OH and Morgan (Beejay) Childs; bonus mom, Paula Rigby; special sister, Auriell Weston; special brothers, Roy (Jamenequa) Saulsberry, Rudy Rigby, Bacceba Dotson, Jarvis DeRamus and a host of family, friends and biker friends.
Visitation will be Friday, October 1, 5pm until 7pm, at Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home. Homegoing celebration will be Saturday, October 2, 12pm, at New Destiny Christian Church, 201 Goldenrod Ave. Gadsden.
