With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Shirley Ann (Hatcher) Johnson.
On February 26, 2026, Shirley entered a peaceful eternal rest at home in Atlanta, GA.
Shirley Ann (Hatcher) Johnson was born in Gadsden, Alabama on April 21, 1945 to the late Webb Williams and the late Frances Nowell-Robertson. A native of Gadsden, Alabama, Shirley later moved to Atlanta, Georgia which became her home.
Shirley was a self-taught pianist who taught each of her children to play piano. She instilled in them a deep love of music and collectively they play numerous instruments which include piano, drums, and all string instruments: violin, viola, cello and bass. This legacy of her love for and gift of music was also passed down to her grandchildren who are also gifted musicians as well.
Shirley was a humble woman and later in life chose to live a simpler, quieter, more peaceful life.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Griffin Hatcher, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lolisa Francina Hatcher, Ruby Irisana Hatcher, Delyne Victtor Hatcher, Sonny Darrel Hatcher (Charnell) and Solomon Lee Hatcher (Danielle); Daughter-in-love, Nina; her grandchildren, Audreanna, Griffin Jr., Symone, Kyleigh, Lakeisha, April, Latonya, Barett, and Chloe; numerous great grandchildren; and her siblings, Patricia Palmore-Williams, Larry Palmore (Jearline), Robert Palmore (Stephanie), Jimmy Robertson, Johnny Robertson (Teresa), and Tony Robertson.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of sorrow. Losing someone so dear leaves a deep ache, and I pray that God's presence brings comfort and peace.
May you be strengthened by the blessed hope we have in Christ - that death is a temporary sleep, and that one day, at the soon return of Jesus, those who rest in Him will rise again. Until that glorious morning, may you find assurance in knowing that she is safely resting.
May the Lord surround you with His love, grant you peace beyond understanding, and carry you through each day with gentle grace. You are not alone, and our hope remains secure in Christ.
My heart was saddened to hear of the loss of your "Mama." Her legacy will live on in each of you. She was a forward thinker, even before the word became popular. I called her a trailblazer. Family I pray for peace and comfort as we continue to navigate and process her loss. I offer my heartfelt sympathy and love.
Sincere condolences to you all! My Sister and Brother in law are Larry and Jearline Palmore! I didn't know Mrs. Shirley personally, but looking on grief on someone else that's close to you can seem as if you knew the one who passed personally! Our prayers are with you all ! Sincerely, The Cheeves Family, Griffin,Ga.
The measure of a Mother is the legacy she leaves behind. A piece of her lives on in her children and grandchildren. Although your hearts are full of sorrow, know that she will always with you, guiding your hand.
My sincere Condolences to the family, keeping you in prayer 🙏 Mrs.Virginia Jackson and Family
Mom, you will be missed down here more than words can express. But I rejoice knowing you're seated at your heavenly piano, playing for the Almighty—singing His praises and dancing in His presence. Get a dance in for me until I get there. Thank you for the legacy you left in me. I love you forever.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
