Mr. T. J. Ellis, Jr., was born on July 30, 1929, in Wetumpka, AL, to T. J., and Timothy Mae Ellis. He transitioned from time to eternity on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Gadsden Health and Rehabilitation Center.
T. J., was baptized at Atkin Hill Baptist Church at an early age and was educated in the Elmore County School System.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Addie Lee Knight.
Early in his work career, T. J., was employed with the City of Gadsden, and later, he went on to work many years for Copeland Glass Company. Later in life, he worked for Ashley Cement Finishers, as a concrete finisher. T. J., was known by many nicknames, “Sudie D”, “Top Cat”, and “Wild Bill”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a loving and devoted wife, Addie Lee Ellis; two sons, Nathaniel Ellis and Joe Louis Ellis; two daughters, Mae Frances Ellis and Cynthia Elaine Jones; one grandson, T. J. Ellis; one granddaughter, Tiffany Ellis Hayes; three brothers, Carey Ellis, Tommy Ellis, and Frazier Ellis; three sisters, Doris Carter-Oskoei, Libby Ruth Gray, and Willie Nell Cook.
Those left to cherish his memories: two daughters, Patricia Williams and Ruthie Lee Williams, both of Gadsden, AL; three sons, Eddie Charles Ellis and James Cecil Ellis, both of Gadsden, AL, and Willie Ezell, Jr., of Wetumpka, AL; bonus daughter, Sheila (Randy) Duckett of Gadsden, AL; daughter-in-law, Adrienne L. Ellis of Birmingham, AL; son-in-law, Randy Jones of Gadsden, AL; 24 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Earie Mae Wallace of Cincinnati, OH; one brother, Bobby (Ruth) Ellis of Cincinnati, OH; sisters-in-law, Rubena Ellis of Wetumpka, AL, Arnold Ruth Dunn of Gadsden, AL, Gail Harris of Las Vegas, NV, and Pat of Cincinnati, OH; brothers-in-law, Willie Earl Knight and Edward Harris, both of Wetumpka, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
