Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Tommy Jack Howard, will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 2, 2021, in the chapel of Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home.

Our Lord and Savior sent his Angels to bring Tommy Jack Howard home on Thursday, June 24, 2021. We are blessed today, celebrating the life of Bro. Howard, who impacted all of our lives. Bro. Tommy Jack Howard was born on June 7, 1945, to Jesse D. Howard and Pauline McAfee Miller in Gadsden, AL. He was educated in the Gadsden City School System and graduated from Carver High School in 1963. He accepted Christ into his life at an early age and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, there he served as a trustee and a member of the usher board. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force and worked over 20 years for Gadsden Project Head Start, until his retirement. Bro. Howard was also a Mason.

Bro. Tommy was preceded in death by: his parents, Jesse D. Howard and Pauline McAfee Miller; one brother and one sister. Those left to cherish his memory are his: wife, Linda Brasher Howard of Gadsden, AL; daughter, Marvalene Elston of Florence, AL; sons, George A. Hughley and Thomas Cook, both of Gadsden, AL; step-children, Latoya, Tyrone and Marlon Brasher, all of Gadsden, AL; sisters, Gail H. Bush, Shelia Gordon and Katherine Hood, all of Gadsden, AL; half-sister, Vickey Pettiway of Louisville, Ky; Priscilla Keith of Gadsden, AL; half-brother, Darren Pettiway of Louisville, KY; father-in-law, Johnnie Avery of Gadsden, AL; two brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren; Kenton Wright and other special friends. Special thanks to the paramedics and staff of Gadsden City Fire & Rescue.
