Verner Johnny Rucker was called home on October 26, 2022, at the age of 73. He was born to the late Mr. Fate and Mrs. Opal Bell Rucker in Banks County Georgia. Verner graduated from Banks County High School, where he was one of the first African Americans to integrate the Banks County School System. Upon graduation for love of country, Verner joined the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He took so much pride and felt so honored to be called a veteran. Following his stint in the army, he chose to get his CDL and drive trucks for Georgia Foundation, where he worked until he retired. Upon retirement Verner realized his love for entrepreneurship and chose to establish along with his brothers, The Rucker Brothers Farm. Where he worked and expanded for 23 years, and still family owned and operated.
Passionate about his faith, Verner joined Nealβs Grove Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. He served on various committees. But it was his love of music, that drove him to sing in the Male chorus where he was one of its original members. And where he also served faithfully until his health started to fail.
