A Graveside celebration of life for Avontae Latrell Heard 19, of Oxford, Al will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Pine Ridge Cemetery, in Oxford, Al with Pastor Fred Young, officiating. The family will be accepting family and friends from 2-6PM on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the chapel of Goodson Funeral Home. Avontae was a 2020 graduate of Munford High School. He graduated magna cum laude. He was also a member of the football team. After graduation, Avontae attended Gadsden State Community College where he made the dean's list this last semester. He was majoring in heating and air conditioning. He was employed at Dairy Queen in Oxford, Al. Avontae attended Sweet Rock Pure Holiness Church and New Birth Christian Center, both of Oxford, Al. Avonate transition on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Al. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, A.D., Sr., and Sarah Heard; great-grandparents, George and Mary Foster; and great-grandfather, James Byrdsong. Left to honor, cherish and remember his love are: his mother, Tamalar Heard and his father, Gerald Heard both of Oxford, Al; one brother, Bradley Heard of Oxford, Al; nephews, Jayveon and Landen Heard both of Oxford, Al; grandparents, Ronald and Janice Byrdsong of Oxford, Al; great-grandmother, Thelma Byrdsong of Oxford, Al; godmother, Doris Heard of Orlando, Fl; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
