Obituary For Edith C. Foster

Funeral Services for Mrs. Edith C. Foster will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Carlton Phillips, Pastor and Prophetess Mary Charlotte Caver, Eulogist. Interment will follow the service in the Forestlawn Gardens. Visitation will be Friday at Goodson Funeral Home from 1:00-6:00 p.m.

Edith C. Foster was born February 14, 1934 to the parentage of the late Louie Occo and Mary Margaret Caver. Edith confessed Christ at early age and maintained her faith throughout her life. Edith was married to the late Grover Hosea Foster in July 1973 and to that union was born one son, Frederick Foster. Edith relied on her faith in Jesus Christ as she acknowledged on August 11, 2014, the day of her release from facility rehabilitation due to a fall, that "God is good all of the time" and "The Lord will make a way" by having her daughter hand write signs and hang then over the door way and on the wall. On every Sunday morning, you'll always find her dwelling place filled with gospel music. After a long battle with dementia, being able to have her children, grandchildren, brother Alfred, in-laws and close family friends visit to bid farewell, Edith took her final victory lap on this side of eternity. Her daughter Charlotte was by her side holding her hands, sharing in praise and worship unto our Lord Jesus Christ.

Upon reading various passages of scriptures and re-reading "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst" John 6:35. Edith ate of this word by taking her last swallow and breath and entered into the presence of the Lord. For it is said "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (Ecclesiastes 12:7, 2 Corinthians 5:6-8).

Caver, William Caver, Ralph Caver and Carlton Caver; sisters Mary F. Caver and Christine (Jim) Gilbert, brother-in-law Jim Gilbert, sister-in-law Lillian (Alfred) Caver.
